Don't have a lot of time to write, today. We've got the Annual Rummage Sale at Royal Lane Baptist Church, our Summer mission trip fund-raiser, over the next couple of days. In recent years, we've made in the neighborhood of $12,000-$14,000. It's a pretty big deal for us. It really serves to supplement the costs of taking 60+ people to where ever we end up going. I'm going to be up at church, prepping for the sale and "schlepping" stuff around.
I wanted to point you to a great podcast by that guy, David Allen, that I've written about. He's the author of Getting Things Done, a book on personal productivity. This podcast would be a great way to dip your toe in the water, if you're not sure about going out and reading the entire book. I'd recommend the March 30 interview of David by John Jantsch of Duct Tape Marketing. Enjoy.

I downloaded his book off itunes last year and become a devotee right away. I dismissed it for many years as another "system." I'll admit his method is a little rigid for me, but found a lot of freedom in implementing a little order into my cluttered life and have found it easier to prioritize and focus on what is important. My favorite part is his "mind like water" theory, which I won't ruin by trying to explain on my own...Check it out.
I wish that I HAD discovered it years ago. I'm such a procrastinator that the "rigid system" would've really helped get my s@#! together. D.A. says that it takes YEARS to really get the system down without thinking about it. Any little implementation helps.
I decided that my dream job would be to work as a GTD Corp. Trainer. It would be so fulfilling to watch people transform their productivity just by implementing the system.
